In my role as company Chairman, it gives me great pleasure to explain the business activity and philosophy of ProCoat Tecnologías S.L.
ProCoat Tecnologías S.L. is a Spanish company in Barcelona province which was established in 1972 by Mr Juan Brugarolas Fábregas, a chemist, founder and senior manager responsible for developing BRUGAL® chemical treatments technology for metal surfaces, which not only offer top-quality specifications for steel, but also significant savings for both direct users of BRUGAL® products and end-producers of steel products, so making a huge contribution to the pursuit of sustainability.
The principal market sectors where we offer these solutions are: the Iron and Steel Industry (steel coils), General Galvanisation, Tubes and Pipes, Wire, General Industry (industrial paintwork) and Electroplating.
A significant part of our human resources is geared towards research, the continuous development of our BRUGAL® technology and innovation (R+D+I) to keep our technology at the forefront, a position it has retained since it appeared on the market, bringing added value to world renowned companies and reducing their costs considerably.
Our BRUGAL® products are of interest to companies in highly industrialised countries who call for top-quality specifications, as well as in emerging countries, where reduced costs are the priority. This, together with the company's strong entrepreneurial spirit and the effective collaboration of our distributors, has led us to achieve an export quota in excess of 90% in recent years.
Since 1990, all our R+D+I projects have been based on BRUGAL® hexavalent chrome-free solutions, which, thanks to our team's extensive experience and knowledge, has enabled us once again to play a ground-breaking and spearheading role following the historical technological change in the surfaces treatment sector with the prohibition of the use of hexavalent chrome by European home appliance (2006) and car manufacturers (2007), so that today BRUGAL® chrome-free solutions can be offered to all the industrial sectors in which we have a presence.
